Meet the face
behind the posts
I hate about me sections. I’ll (try to) keep it short: my first pivotal moment in life was the first time I stepped into a ballet studio. I was 5. Left home at 11 to pursue my ballet dreams. Life took a turn for the worse and I stopped dancing completely aged 13. For a child in pain, reading and writing came as a natural response. For my (artistic) ego, it was the stage or nothing. So I turned my back on art and graduated from law school. Surprisingly, I didn’t like it so I started (almost simultaneously) a second bachelor's degree in Foreign Languages and Literatures, where I studied English and Russian (yes, she’s nuts). I used it as an opportunity to publish scientific studies on cultural history, particularly ballet. Became an Art History Scholar at Moscow Pedagogical State University. Literally slept in Bolshoi for 7 months. Not a bad place to call it a bedroom, huh? (risky, I know. I always liked a bit of edge to it.) My thesis was entitled Petipa and Diaghilev or the migration of Russian ballet to West. I hold it to my heart dearly. Maybe one day I’ll share it with the world.
I am currently studying for my MA in History of Art and Philosophy of Culture. The things we lose have a way of coming back to us. The piece of paper is my stage now. I hope you’ll enjoy the show.
